SLAP Pole installed in Museum
SLAP pole Installed at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC!!
Today I went to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. This is one amazing place, first of all. The only thing I knew about it before today is what I saw in Night at the Museum.
So, there is an awesome climate change exhibit going on there and upstairs there is a “Discovery Room” for kids. A movie about my SLAP project is playing there and I got to bring a SLAP pole to be exhibited there! Then, I did a presentation to about 300 people. The kids who came were really motivated and I think we’ll work with some of them to install SLAP poles in NYC! Which is a good thing because if we don’t do anything about climate change, all of lower Manhattan would be totally submerged.
It was pretty hilarious, though, getting the nine foot pole there! Virgin Airlines was great about it and then we just needed long cabs.
